Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Gentle Creatures Pet Rescue?

Gentle Creatures Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer non-profit organization with one mission: To help unwanted, abused, or neglected pets tofind new, loving, forever homes. We do not have a facility for housing our adoptable pets; rather, our many volunteers foster our pets in a safe, nurturing environment until just the right home is found for the pet. Gentle Creatures was founded in 1995 and has rehomed over 500 pets since our beginning.

Check our web site frequently, as we receive new pets often. We will be delighted to arrange for you to meet your prospective pet and to talk about the animal with its foster parents. We also bring pets to local pet stores for “Meet and Greets,” so be sure to check our calendar for dates and locations.

How can I help Gentle Creatures?

We are always in need of caring people to foster our pets. Please let us know if you would be able to share your home with an adoptive pet. Volunteers are also needed at our Meet and Greets at local pet stores to talk with interested people about our available animals, and to help with transporting the pets.

How about donations?

We are always in need of dog and cat food (both dry and canned), old (but clean) towels and blankets, pet bowls and toys, doggy shampoo, cat litter, bleach, cleaning supplies, etc. Financial donations are particularly welcome, as veterinary bills and needed medications for some of our pets are quite expensive. Your financial donations are tax-deductable; we are happy to provide you a receipt. Please contact us if you would like more information about donations, or you can bring donated items to any of our Meet and Greets (check the calendar for dates and locations).
